Our Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth Halkos, appeared recently on “The Balancing Act,” a 30-minute, magazine-style morning show on Lifetime TV. The segment, “From Employee Purchase to Employee Purpose,” discussed the affect that financial stress has on employees at work and how our employee purchase program can be a solution.
Anchor Olga Villaverde cited research showing that money is the leading cause of stress for employers and that stress over money takes both a mental and physical toll on employees, impacting healthcare costs and productivity.
During the interview, Halkos pointed out an alarming statistic – that employees who take financial issues to work with them spend four hours a week at work dealing with their finances. She added that when you are in a financial hole, it can be difficult to get out.
She also discussed how Purchasing Power works and the free financial wellness program available for customers as a better way to build financial stability.
“Your job is your credit,” Halkos concluded. Watch the five-minute segment to hear the complete interview.
